ISEB accepts, transforms and inspires children through our growing range of assessments and educational support, so we are delighted to find other organisations that live our values, like Oppidan Education.
Like ISEB, Oppidan pursues positive change in children’s education. It was founded in the spring of 2016 with a drive to change the rules in the education sector. The founders, Walter and Henry, believe we all need a mentor to increase our character and confidence. They work with children and schools to deliver support at pinch points in children’s lives.
ISEB endorses the Oppidan Framework for schools. Schools can use the framework to supercharge their pupils’ personal development and enhance their wellbeing. Their mentoring programmes for young people scaffold their self-development, especially at big ‘life-changing’ moments like moving to secondary school or facing adulthood. It is inspiring to see children learn to self-reflect positively, develop soft leadership skills and support each other.
“The peer mentoring scheme which Oppidan Education established was outstanding. It made an immediate and significant difference to the life of the school: the older pupils developed skills of listening and understanding for life; the younger pupils benefited from regular, guided conversation with those best placed to help and advise.” Warden, St. Edward’s
