The ISEB Pre-Tests, sometimes referred to as ‘the 11+’, the ‘Pre-Tests’, or ‘the ISEB’ are a set of four multiple-choice, adaptive, online tests used by leading independent schools as part of the admissions process for Year 7, or delayed entry in Year .

All pupils taking the ISEB Pre-Tests must do so at a registered and approved invigilation centre. An invigilation centre for the ISEB Pre-Tests could be:

– Current school: a UK prep school, maintained primary or junior school or international prep or junior school

– Senior School: if the pupil is sitting the test at one of the schools to which they have applied

– Other educational and governmental venue: an approved educational or governmental independent exam venue, known as a ‘non-school venue’, such as a British Council

If your school or non-school venue would like to act as an invigilation centre for the Pre-Tests, please complete the form below. A Qualifications & Delivery Team member will then contact you to discuss your next steps. Once approved, you will gain access to Pre-Tests Invigilation Centre portal to manage, schedule and host the tests.

The 2024-25 Pre-Tests session is now open. Registration will close on Friday, May 9 2025, and the last tests must be taken by Friday, May 16 2025. Parents and guardians can register their children via the Guardian Portal.
