ISEB SCHOOL ACCOUNTS

What is the ISEB School Account?

The ISEB School Account is an account that provides access to school-only content and products on the ISEB website and online shop to schools that work with CE or CASE examinations, or the iPQ.

It allows schools to order past papers for CE and CASE, and to register candidates for examinations and qualifications such as the iPQ.

Many schools will already have an ISEB School Account, and will have been using it to place orders for past CE, and CASE exam papers on our online shop. As part of the new registration process, schools will now submit candidate registrations for CE, CASE, iPQ, as well as the Exploring the Ancient World Project Qualification (for state schools) through this account.

Account Features

1

One school account, multiple users

ISEB School Accounts may have as many individual users as a school requires. Each user can be set up with the level of access they require and schools can add and edit users via their account dashboard. Each user has their own individual login details for the account.

2

Simple login via email address

While schools still require an ISEB Account Number, they do not need to remember this to log in any longer. Login is done via email address and a password that users can reset whenever they need to, without having to contact ISEB.

3

One dashboard for all interactions

ISEB School Accounts feature a dashboard where school users can view records of shop orders, download products, and registrations for exams or qualifications.

Further information about ISEB School Accounts

  • How can schools check if they have an existing ISEB School Account?

If your school has entered candidates for CE and CASE in the past two years, it is very likely that an ISEB School Account was set up for your school when the new ISEB online shop launched.

If your school usually purchases CE and CASE past papers for mock exams or practice purposes, please first contact the colleague at your school who usually orders these papers.

You can also raise a support ticket on our Support Portal, choosing the option: ‘Request to check if my school has an ISEB School Account’. A member of the ISEB customer support team will be in touch with details of your account if your school has one, or information about how to set one if your school does not.

Schools who enter candidates for the iPQ but not for CE or CASE, may not yet have an account. Please raise a ticket on our support desk to check, or apply to register for an account.

  • How can schools create an ISEB School Account?

It is highly likely that most schools already have an active ISEB School Account. Please check internally and with your school administrators to confirm no current account exists before creating a new one.

If your school does not have an existing ISEB School Account you can register online. Register for an account.

Once ISEB has verified and approved your account, you will be able to access the Examination & Qualification Registration section of our Schools Hub to register candidates and access the schools-only shop to purchase advanced orders.

  • How can schools add users to existing ISEB School Accounts?

Account admins have the ability to add additional colleagues to their schools ISEB School Account.

This can be done via your account dashboard, by clicking the ‘ADD USER’ button. This opens up a form where you can enter the details for the user you would like to add to your account.

Currently, a user can be an Admin, Shop User or Registrar User. An Admin can add products on the online shop to the cart and checkout, and will be able to register candidates for exams and qualifications. A Registrar User can register candidates for qualifications and view the school-only online shop but not purchase products, an admin will need to complete any purchases. A Shop User can add products to the cart. Purchases will need to be completed by the Admin.

You can also raise a support ticket on our Support Portal, choosing the option: ‘Request to check if my school has an ISEB School Account’. A member of the ISEB customer support team will be in touch with details of your account if your school has one, or information about how to set one if your school does not.

  • How will ISEB use ISEB School Account holders details?

All ISEB School Account holders will have their details stored and used by ISEB as defined in our Privacy Policy. Account holders will be subscribed to our email marketing provider (MailChimp) to ensure that they recieve important, relevant and useful email communications about ISEB’s examinations, resources, qualifications and information for schools. Account holders can unsubscribe at any time however they will no longer receive these relevant and important communications. Account holders will not have their details shared with third parties other than for purposes outlined in our Privacy Policy relating to the operational/legal running of our examinations and qualifications.

  • What is the difference between account user access rights?

The ISEB School Account has the built in functionality to permit or restrict access for users to certain elements of the platform.

There are currently three different types of account user:

    • Admins – have total control over the schools account including full permission to complete purchases of past papers, update account details and add or remove new users.
    • Shop Users – have the ability to add products to the schools virtual basket to purchase past papers and examination packs. Please note, only full admins are able to check out once past papers are added to the basket.
    • Registrar Users – have the ability to register candidates for qualifications. They can also view the School-only online shop.
  • How can international schools use the ISEB School Account?

International schools can register for an ISEB School Account and will need to do so in order to register candidates for CE, CASE and the iPQ.

At present, we are unable to sell our past paper products to customers outside of the United Kingdom for VAT reasons. We are currently working on a solution to this and will have more information about this soon.

If your school is located outside of the UK and would like to purchase our past paper products, please contact us. We will investigate whether it is possible for us to sell past papers in your territory.

Please note, international schools will only have access to the candidate registration portion of the account due to the aforementioned international sales restrictions.

  • Do I need an ISEB School Account to register candidates for the Common Pre-Tests?

No. The new processes for Common Pre-Tests registration launched in September 2022 will remain the same. Parents and guardians will continue to register their children for the Common Pre-Tests via the new Guardian Portal. Invigilation centres and senior schools working with the Common Pre-Tests will still need to carry out administration for these exams through the new Invigilation Centre Portal and Senior School Portal.

  • I can't access the Candidate Registration pages on the website?

The new Examination & Registration section of the website is only visible to users who have logged-in to a valid ISEB School Account. If you see a padlock icon, this will mean that you are not logged in to an ISEB School Account and will need to do so before continuing. You can check your login status in the top right hand corner of the website – if you are logged out, you will see a button that says ‘Login’, if you are logged in you will see your username and account type.

Users can log in by clicking on the small person icon on the bottom left of the ISEB website home page.

  • How will the new registration process for CE, CASE and the iPQ work?

The new registration process is very similar to the previous process.

To register candidates for CE, CASE, or the iPQ, schools will need an active, verified ISEB School Account that allows users registered on the account to log in to the new ISEB website.

If you are unsure whether your school has an active ISEB School Account, you can submit a ticket on our Support Portal. Please choose the option: ‘Request to check if my school has an ISEB School Account’.

Once logged in to the ISEB website, you will be taken to the Schools Hub. From here, you will be able to access the Examination & Qualification Registration area. Choose whether you would like to register candidates for CE, CASE, the iPQ (or the Exploring the Ancient World Project Qualification for state schools).

The way candidate information is submitted will change. You will no longer be required to enter candidates into a form one by one. Instead, you will add all of your candidates to a Candidate Registration Upload Template spreadsheet provided by us, and upload once, whenever you are ready.

You can download the relevant Candidate Registration Upload Template spreadsheet, and complete this at your leisure.

Once you have completed the upload template, simply submit it as a .CSV file through the relevant online registration form to register your candidates.

A record of your registration will appear in your ISEB School Account dashboard.

  • Why did ISEB change the registration process for CE, CASE, and the iPQ?

The aim of the changes was to enable schools to only have one account, the ISEB School Account, to order past CE and CASE papers from the online shop and to register candidates for CE, CASE, and the iPQ. In time, we’ll be adding lots more functionality and resources to the Schools Hub too.
